Discounts at Restaurants

Do you enjoy going out to a restaurant, or even fast-food place, occasionally? I sure do. But since we order our food to be delivered, I can't get the discount. But I thought I would make a list here for those of you who enjoy a certain restaurant and do go out. Here it is: A&W = 10% at 60+ IHOP = Senior section on menu Arby's = 10% off for 55+ (select locations) Subway = 10% off for 60+ I checked with Cracker Barrell, and they do have a 'senior program' but only at some locations. This is my favorite restaurant. I always get either the peppered trout or the meat loaf. Both are good and their potatoes are great. I love their hashbrown casserole too. Do you have a favorite restaurant? What is the dish you usually order? Can you tell I am hungry?

During the winter months, Asda, a supermarket chain over here, offers seniors (60+) soup and a roll, plus unlimited hot drinks for only £1. Roll on winter!

Asda have done free porridge in the past too. It was for everyone, not just the wrinkles ! Also Morrison have done free crumpets too , for everyone ….i had that too. I’m practicing for when I can officially get the over 60’s deals …..

@Traceyjayne I didn’t know about the free porridge. Shame as I love porridge on a cold winter’s morn. Even more of a shame that you have to leave your warm house to take advantage of it. I also didn’t know about the free crumpets from Morrisons. It’s not a shop I visit often, but I’ll look out for it in future. I love a freebie. Yep, I try to take advantage of any of the over 60’s deals I can. I bet your frustrated you have to wait until your 67 to get your state pension, when only a few years ago you would have been getting it at 60. I had to wait an extra year until I got to 66 and that was bad enough.

Pretty and I have only gone and picked up food twice since the pandemic and I never thought about getting a senior discount when I paid for the food. There is a Subway a couple of miles from our house but Pretty doesn't like them. We have two $10 cards from them that I've carried in my wallet for four or five years. (I've suggested going so we could use those cards but she says to save them until we NEED them. )

Oh, yes. So the need continues. I used to enjoy Subways sandwiches but can't eat them now.

@celticeagle Sometimes my daughter is very annoying... Why "throw away" good food. She might not like their sandwiches but I do. They will eventually refuse to accept the two cards from my wallet.

I enjoyed my last experience at IHOP several years ago now. They are one the few with this programs.

We do not eat out much at all, so I do not really have a favorite restaurant. I do like the pizza joint that we order from though. I order it online and go and pick it up. I prefer that over delivery.

You are probably healthier for it too. We have a great pizza place here we like too. If we had transportation we would pick up what we order too. Uber Eats has a nice program though.
