That Job Would Not Be For Me

There have been many times in my life when I have said, "Never pass up on a good opportunity," or "Go where the money is." I am referring to jobs, mostly. I've done things, sometimes, not because they were necessarily things I wanted to do. They were things that made the kind of money I wanted to make to accomplish my financial objectives.
So, let's say that someone from the Lottery Commission called me up, somehow finding my résumé online somewhere, and said, "Hey, I think we're a match and we have a position open for you. We can pay you $75k a year and you can start tomorrow." Would I take it?
Well, the one side of me would say, based on what I said at the beginning of this post, yes. The other side of me would say no. You see, there's a catch and a double-edged sword of sorts here with this kind of a proposition.
If you work for the Lottery, you cannot PLAY the lottery.
By the way, I capitalized the one and not the other on purpose because one is the commission and one is the game, just in case there might be some grammar police lurking.
That's right. It is against the rules to work for the Lottery and play it, because of course, if you won, there might be questions, and the Lottery doesn't want the integrity of their games to be under any unnecessary scrutiny.
Granted, the odds are terribly against me that I will ever win the lottery of course. So, I might be a fool anyway to say no to a payday just because I might lose the chance at hundreds of millions, or even billions.
But I'd rather not give up the chance, and there are other things I could do to earn that kind of money. So, I'd have to take a pass. Even if it would be a really stupid reason to do it.
What would you do?

I would not play lottery and I think you can save your money from work to spend in your business.

The same likely. I would constently question it. And, I would like to play once in a while, too.

@porwest I agree. I don't play often, but I wouldn't be told 'I can't because...' I'd rather decide what I want to do.

I was forced to retire and, for the last few years, we've struggled with money... But, we aren't struggling now so I'd say no to the job and no to playing lottery.

@porwest Lotto and the lottery are like sports for me. I'm just not interested.

Seeing as I never win much when I play the lottery I might except their offer.
