Lunch With Old High School Friends Today

Today or this afternoon I am getting together with my two best friends for a late lunch. We were a trio in high school until the 3rd one got pregnant and missed her Senior year. We used to meet up for each of our birthdays and another one for Christmas, but now our meetups are few and far between. This is only the 2nd one this year. Last year I think we missed the whole year. We said at out last lunch that we were going to get back into a better routine. We planned where we were going for our next luncheon. That seemed to help because before trying to decide where to go took a few days and then finding a day we were all free took a week or longer. So here's to a good time this afternoon catching up with the besties! We are going to a place that all three of us have never been to! Can't wait, the menu looks awesome! I haven't seen high school friends since we graduated. I do talk with some of them using text messages once in a while, though. (I really should do that, come to think about it.) My friends are scattered all over the US so it's hard for any of us to get together anymore. I'd rather go to a restaurant ONE of us has been to before and liked. New places can give not-fun surprises. I hope you all have a good time.

You are so right about the surprises! We had one last month when we were starving and let the grandson choose a place--the seafood steak restaurant or the BQ place and he picked the seafood steak house and both the seafood and steaks sucked.

@DaddyEvil We will know next time we have to drop off the granddaughter or pick her up! It's BQ or even Taco Bell.

If someone else is treating me to dinner, I can be adventurous, but if I'm paying for myself, I like to stick to food I've eaten before at the same place. With the cost of eating out today, I prefer no surprises.

I usually do to, but I've heard other friends and one of the brother and sister in laws all love it so I thought we would be okay there. It was great!

It was a wonderful place--I already had another visit planned my my hubby and myself just from looking at the menu online!! We may have a new favorite place to go eat at!
