Vouchers from Beacon, Western Australia

I’ve spoken before about small towns coming up with all sorts of ideas to entice visitors to their towns. Having said that, some of the more popular towns are finding themselves overwhelmed with tourists and just wish they’d all go home! One small town that we enjoy visiting is Beacon. We stayed in the caravan park there for two nights recently. One of their ploys is to give $10 vouchers for each night you stay. We had two campsites so were entitled to four vouchers. The guy who gives out the vouchers is a typical Okker (Australian) and gave us an extra voucher each. As we weren’t there when he came around, he popped the vouchers under a stone on the step into our motor-home. There is a list of places where you can spend the vouchers on the back of the ticket. Unfortunately we found out that you can’t buy fuel with the vouchers so we haven’t used ours yet. However, they’re good for twelve months so I’m sure we’ll be back there soon.

I get those voichers when I shop at Amazson. in but none that are of use to me.

We were impressed. Isn't it funny? The amount isn't that much but it's always such a 'perk' to get something for nothing.

Some of the places I have stayed at over the years have given me coupons. Some have been used and I appreciate saving money. A few have been new places and discovered a place that will visit in the future.

We should have just spent it in their general store. You could also get meals and drinks in their 'country club' but being a small town, meals are available only a few nights a week.
