I just stumbled on this photo from about ten years ago. It's the view from the car on the way from Austria into Germany. I was visiting a musician friend who grew up in the US but settled in Austria. The mountains in the photo are the Alps.Those are some BIG mountains, the most impressive I have ever seen. The month was January.The weather reminded me of the American Midwest. It was not that bad.What were some of the most interesting places you have visited in your travels?

That IS a beautiful view!
I've just done some traveling in the US (and barely into Mexico). The Grand Canyon has to be the most spectacular view I've ever seen. Looking down into the Canyon from the South Rim was gorgeous! When Pretty and I were there, there was one crag standing a little way out into the canyon and it looked like I could jump across to it and then back to the South Rim... I didn't.. quite.. have the cojones to actually make the jump...

@TheHorse Las Vegas always leaves and impression and Grand Canyon as well. The architecture in Europe is amazing.

Indeed, I would love to visit a lot of heritage places and squares in Europe.
Many of the old and new structures in India, especially after British colonial period are inspired by Arcs and other features of European architecture.

@LadyDuck
Is this place near some coastal region of Italy?
This civilization could have been a linkage between different historical cultures at that time.

The Alps! Cool! Aside from the Keys, I enjoyed the entire trip of the west coast. I also went bonkers over the Petrified Forest and Grand Canyon..

@TheHorse There's so much to see in this country. I'm glad hubby and I did some traveling while we were still young.

We took a previous motor-home through the Alps. They were certainly impressive. We were in mountainous country from time to time in Germany, Austria and France. So many good memories.
