I wrote about Berinbooding Rock recently. The granite slabs for the walls were formed by lighting a big fire on the surface of the rock. This was allowed to burn all night. When water was poured on the rock next morning the granite exploded in big layers. Using rock walls to channel water into tanks was quite a common practice for Australia’s early settlers.
Other features at the rock include a balancing rock, gnamma holes which were important sources of water for the local aborigines, and wildflowers. There is also a magnificent view from the top of the rock.

Wow, that’s so cool! The balancing rock and those gnamma holes sound really interesting too. And the view from the top plus wildflowers around? That must have been such a beautiful spot to explore!
