The 'not what it seems' jigsaw

I started a new jigsaw today. I’ve put up the photos before. It’s one of those jigsaws where what you see on the box is not actually what you’re trying to create. I’m having a really good look at the photo I took of the finished jigsaw which I guess is cheating but I think I need all the help I can get. There is another one of these in the clubhouse cupboards. If this one goes well, I might try that one next.

That sounds as if it would be challenging. That's nice that the clubhouse has puzzles that you can borrow.

There are a lot of games and puzzles that we can borrow so it's good.

@JudyEv That's cool. I love to play games. Hubby didn't.

It must be very hard to finish a jigsaw if you cannot guess what is the final figure.

@JudyEv I see nothing similar between the two.

@LadyDuck I guess it's a lounge room and they're playing games. The lower one is supposed to be 'in the future' more so than the top one.

It's tricky. I thought the characters might be dressed the same or whatever but not much is similar between the two.

My husband prefers working on jigsaws during the colder months. We have a couple all ready for him to work on once that weather arrives.

@JudyEv That reminds me of the summer scene puzzle that he glued together, it is still on the coffee table, I should put it away as there is an autumn scene that I can put out. Puzzles can be useful in more ways than just a pastime.

How can you assemble the frame if you don't have a photo reference? I do jigsaw puzzle online, sometimes I build them through checking their colors and lines.

Usually I collect 'like' colours together and sometimes there are patterns too. But mostly it's slow work.

You are so patient to do these jigsaws Judy. I always love how they look though. This one will be good.

I have a couple of cousins who spend a lot of time and money buying jigsaws from charity shops. Generally they are great but sometimes they have pieces missing which is annoying. I should really get into jigsaws I think. I used to do them when I was a child.

I would never buy a new one now. If they have a piece missing, I mark it on the picture on the box. Mostly all the pieces have been there.
