Baltimore County firefighters answered an emergency call from an owner in a property on Thursday August 14 when a horse fell down eight feet in a hole when the horse walked over a wooden plank. Thanks to the teamwork of both the Baltimore County Fire Department as well as the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services Special Ops, they were able to form a rescue plan to rescue the horse. The horse was sedated so that a crane that belonged to a local towing company would be able to hoist the horse out of the hole safely. The horse was then taken to be taken care by a veterinarian, The horse appears to be okay after being rescued. Link is upi.com/5341755191291 via @upi

I’m glad it turned out to be okay. Maybe the landowner will be more conscious about holes being haphazardly taken care.

I also hope that the homeowner does take care of the wood in his property.

The horse weight was too much for the wood plank to handle.

That horse would be very heavy to lift out of the hole.

Why would the owner ever force his horse to walk the plank, like that, over a hole??

I guess that the owner was careless.

I'm glad the horse was OK. It could have easily broken a leg.

That is true since a fall into a hole around 8 to 10 feet down could have broken some bones.
