When you are in a grocery line and you have waited awhile. What do you think of someone coming up to you and saying I am in a hurry can I go in front of you. If they have one or two items than I do not care if they go in front of me. But if they have a whole shopping cart full of groceries and they cut in front of me. Than I tell them NO wait your turn.

But what about those who are behind you. They may object too

That is true they might object to a person with a whole shopping cart full of groceries but not just a few items.

I've never had anyone ask to do that. If I have a lot of shopping and someone else has just two or three items then I'm happy to let them go before me, even if they don't ask, but asking to push though with a big cart full is just plain cheek!

I don't recall if anyone's asked me to, but I'm sure they have and when they did ask I let them go ahead. I've had plenty of people see that I only had one or two items and tell me I can go ahead of them.

@jstory07 If they ask you, it's not cutting in line. How much they have in their cart doesn't matter to me.

A few items is ok to cut in line but not with a whole shopping cart.

Often people who ask to "go first" because they are in a hurry, then stop outside to chat with other people or at their phone. I usually say I am also in a hurry.

@jstory07 - I only let someone go first if I have a kart full and the other person only a few things.

If I happen to see someone behind me with only a couple of items I will let them cut in front of me. If someone asked me, I'd have to consider the circumstances. Like you said, one or two items? Yeah, probably. A full cart? Absolutely not. Besides, you'd think someone would understand making such a move would be rude. How do you know I am also not in a hurry? And isn't my time just as valuable as yours is?

I agree, if they only have one or two items, I let them go but if they have a full shopping cart, they can go to the end of the line and wait their turn or leave the cart and go if they're in a real hurry to leave. I think of myself as a nice person but that doesn't mean I'm going to let someone walk all over me.

I don't appreciate it and encourage it unless there is a real emergency. Others behind me also suffer. It has been really long since I actually went in person for grocery shopping.

@jstory07 Online delivery options are available here for everything. And through app, I can order everything and pay when delivered. They are super quick with delivery too. And if you don't like the stuff, you can return and deduct the money. They even do an exchange in short time for fruits and veggies. It's so convenient.

If someone with a full cart tries to skip the line, most people would consider that unfair and inconsiderate. You’ve waited your turn just like everyone else, so it makes sense to politely but firmly say no.

Every day I spray the house and leave for at least a half hour. So, I am in no rush to get back. I would turn to those behind me, if the person only had a few things and tell them. If the shopper had a loaded cart, I'd tell them to ask the people behind me if it is okay.

If other people are in line behind me, out of respect for them, I’m not letting them cut, although if the things they have are cheap, I might volunteer to pay for them myself, and alleviate their need to cut.

I am not sure honestly if anyone has asked to go ahead of me and especially not those who have a cartfull. Lots of nice people have waved me in front of them though if I just have an item or two

That would depend too on whether she is older or pregnant, or has few items. I would point out that I am a senior and, as such, I am a priority.

There are plenty of options for someone in a hurry with just a few items, they can go to the express line, they can go to the self serve line or they can come back later. I wouldn't approve of anyone cutting in line, it is unfair for the rest of people who have waited.
