It's Officially Fall

Or do you prefer Autumn over Fall? It's the September Equinox, so it's the first official day of Autumn. Fall is my favorite season. I wish it could be fall all year round. Temps in the 60's would suit me just fine with a crisp coolness to the air and wearing hoodies. Any big Autumn plans?

I've got that scenic train ride to go on in a few weeks. I am looking forward to that.

@TheHorse Into the Shenandoah Valley. It will be scenic, but I would have preferred the other route, Most of the days were sold out on the other one though.

@snowy22315 Still sounds pretty. Will there be frequent stops, so you can visit parks and communities?

Will the trees be "turning" already?

In my part of Missouri, we can still have summer for a few more weeks before we get consistent nice temps. We're back into the mid-80s today. We get two days in the 70s and then back to the 80s again for 10 days, at least. A couple of years ago we had summer into December before we got a hard freeze and then snow started falling. The leaves on the trees went from summer green to brown overnight and then the snow took them off the trees. We didn't have fall colors and a bad fall tourist season. (Which suited me fine. Tourists here think the locals are just there to serve them or get in their way. They don't care that we live here year round. They're more annoyance than anything else.)

No big plans. Autumn always meant "back to school" for me. I enjoyed the changing colors in my Midwestern days. We have them here, but they are muted.

I say Fall. I hate the shorter days. The cooler temps are fine...I just don't like the winter that follows. No plans here.

I always thought autumn and fall were just two words meaning the same thing. That being said, despite some of the drawbacks of summer, such as some intense heat days, it's my favorite season of the year.

I am totally with you. Fall weather year round would be ideal. Fall plans? I guess Disney, but I wish there was something else to look forward to.

I love fall with the drop in temperatures and of course watching the change in color of the leaves. We have beautiful foliage here so in a few weeks it will be gorgeous.
