What has Happened to the Democratic Party?

Party platforms should support issues favorable to the majority of the citizenry. They should come up with realistic solutions to Americans problems, and it should be a priority. But fighting for issues popular with a fraction of the electorate is flirting with political suicide.
No wonder most recently the Democrats hit a 30 year low in a recent CNBC favorability poll at -32. Only 24% of respondents view Democrats positively. Hmm, who were they. TDSer's?
Since 2020, there have been many issues Democrat leaders have supported on both the state and Federal level, and even "doubled down on," which are widely unpopular with the "majority of Americans in the U.S." who exhibit common sense.
Let's take a look at 5 of them:
1. The "Defund the Police" movement.
*This has advanced into Democrats vehemently unsupportive of administration efforts to offer assistance to stop rampant crime and murder in urban areas like Chicago, L.A. and New York.
2. Democrat woke Governors and Mayors creating "Sanctuary Cities" and harboring "criminal illegal aliens."
*These Governors and Mayors have been uncooperative with ICE Agents trying to round up these criminals in their cities. They put the agents in danger by ordering their police to stand down and not protect ICE from demonstrator attacks. This creates an unsafe situation for all.
3. The state of California issuing an "illegal immigrant" a truck driver license.
*This act was totally egregious resulting in the deaths of 3 others in a traffic accident in the state of Florida. This particular "illegal" could not read traffic signs, spoke limited English, and failed the driver's test. I wonder how many more were waived through the testing process?
FYI- It is "legal in California" to issue driver's licenses to "illegal aliens." Wow! Doesn't that make a lot of sense (not).
4. Support for and legitimizing the transgender movement.
*The Democrats are in favor of trans identified men/boys competing in woman's sports. Many even support the right of teens and even younger children to receive sex altering drugs and surgery. Furthermore, the liberals favor allowing educators to teach children transgender ideology in the classrooms.
5. An increase in hateful rhetoric among Democrat representatives calling fellow Republicans, Trump supporters, and social influencers "Racist, Fascist" or worse.
*Dems even objected to having a moment of silence for Charlie Kirk when he was shot and his status unknown. Whether you agree with his views or not, where is the common decency. The man had a family.
*Most recently, Ilham Omar got a standing ovation from Democrats after trashing the memory of Charlie Kirk. How does that make your party more popular?
Conclusions: Whatever happened to the Michelle Obama mantra: "When they go low, we go high." When the other side is cruel or acts like a bully, we don't stoop to their level.
Interesting their behavior... Providing support to rioters who burned, looted and killed over the death of a career criminal (Floyd). And Democrats' criticism and name calling of Mr. Kirk was in poor taste after his death. Yes, I know they are entitled to their opinion, but some of their comments left me stunned. He was patriotic, a faith based, "non-criminal," who only wanted people to rethink media falsehoods.
*** Dems should have showed some respect and at least kept quiet during this tragic time.
NOT A VERY HIGH LOOK DEMS!
Proud to be a Democrat, really?
Nice to see someone taking the "high road" (conservatives and supporters of Charlie Kirk) who did not riot or resort to violence upon his death.

@porwest personally that is what I would rather do but people say I still should go and vote when needed, I do not vote for any state of other officials though,

@RasmaSandra The problem with that, though, is that it is dangerous to cast a vote for something you do not know anything about. We're talking about picking the leader of the free world and the most powerful man on the planet, not deciding who sings better on American Idol.

That is a good question how the Democratic party stood for helping the common people into looking the other way when crime is rampant.

Despite the comment without an explanation to it below, the media has also played a major role in covering up the truth to those viewers who only watch legacy media coverage when it comes to the Dems looking the other way on crime.
Just recently you had both the Chicago Mayor and Governor say we don't need any assistance from the National Guard and administration to help combat crime. Yet, every day someone is murdered in gang violence. Why would you not want to stop the killing? And oh yes, both of these politicians are Democrats.
Thanks so much for reading this post and being informed on the truth.

Yes true, both could tone it down. But those on the left side of the aisle not only name call but insinuate violence and resistance in their speech. Dem pols using words like racist and Hitler only insights those radical leftists to take the next step and kill. As with what happened to a podcaster, Charlie Kirk for his views! Unbelievable.
What's incredible to me is Dems support of breaking the law, allowing illegal migrants to flood into the country and in Colorado, for example, try to take over cities. Dem policies make it much more dangerous than name calling as a decent portion of these people have violent criminal backgrounds. This makes it unsafe for law abiding citizens like you and me.
