India is reeling with incessant rains since the last week of June 25 with only a few days of Sun shine. The result is road damage with potholes everywhere. The government agencies everywhere are investing crores of rupees to fill of those potholes as though they are making the roads of gold. What does this indicate to. Dishonesty of government officials, contractors and the politicians. Unless and until the politicians and government officials stop digesting percentage from government funds this potholes problem will stop, as also there are other substandard government work. We aren't paying the taxes for the politicians and government officials and the government contractors just swindlers.

we did not have too much shameless politicians as well. They were more discreet back then (maybe?!?)

@rakski That's true. Years back at least there were some honest politicians.

Years back we didn't have such bad roads. Most roads had coal tar finishing.

It is so sad that these cannot be fixed, or rather they refuse to.

This is the problem throughout India. My city was a neat and clean city but has turned to a water logged city. Very irritating.

Politicians often overlook the priorities of the people. Running over a pothole can be dangerous leading to an accident.

That's true. The politicians now depend on our taxes and bribe to live a luxurious life while the common man suffers.

Simply stop voting. No, that's not the solution. They'll win. Just as they have been winning. It's the public, for public interest who needs to get down on the roads to mend those potholes. All are sold. They are actually 'victims' of bribery, corruption, greed, you name it.
A portrayal such as this shows lack of unity. Doesn't uphold dignity. But that's how it is. Everywhere. In every country. The good thing is, we still have people where in certain areas, regions, countries, people are trying, to be humane, to be united.

Among the common man we have more corrupt people who vote after taking money from political parties.

That's another headache. It roads are closed for repair and lasts too long months. The government does listen to the common man.

At times a fall is inevitable. Accidents take place because of these pot holes.

You are right. Roads in India aren't constructed properly by the contractor. The contractors bribe the government officials and politicians to get away with substandard work.
