Need to use my OTC card before it expires

I have close to $59 left on my OTC card that will expire at the end of the month. I am limited to where I can go to use the card, which I hate. For me it’s either Walgreens/Duane Reade or Stop&Shop. The only food items I usually get at Walgreens/Duane Reade is Taster’s Choice coffee when it’s on sale and maybe Bumble Bee tuna or Aunt Jemima pancake mix, if on sale as well. None of these things are currently on sale there and I don’t need anything else there not food-related so this store’s out. Gonna have to go to Stop&Shop then. Since I don’t drive I have to take public transportation to get there. Either walk almost half hour to the train and then take that a few stops and walk another 10 minutes. Or walk about 23 minutes to a bus and take that to a different location, which is a short ride and close to the bus stop. But if I miss the bus and have to wait a long time for it I continue walking to the store. Total walking time to bus stop and the rest of the way is about a 45-min walk. Going to the store that requires me taking the train is better because I know the exact train schedule and it’s free, however, this Stop&Shop location is not as great as the one I have to take the bus to.

I’m used to the long walks however it is tiring especially when the sun is shining and it’s hot.

We have a bus stop just about a 1/2 block away by the old folk's home. Sorry you missed the bus. Hopefully you got what you wanted. I wish I could get the OTC card here that I could get some groceries with. Mine is through my insurance and I can only get medical items and supplements. I get $50 quarterly. I don't walk either but can get mine in the mail.

It’s an over-the-counter allowance card that I get from my health insurance company that is preloaded quarterly with a specific dollar amount that I can then use to buy food and health-related item like floss, toothpaste, etc. Any unused balance expires at the end of the quarter.
