It's National Coffee Day

I don't need a "national" day to drink coffee but I will raise my mug and say cheers to all my fellow coffee lovers. I already enjoyed my first cup before I even heard that today is National Coffee Day. But, my second cup is always when I sit down to myLot and enjoy it while I chat. Speaking of coffee, I heard this morning that coffee prices are continuing to rise and I'm sure we haven't seen the end of it yet. It really hurts spending so much on coffee but it's my guilty pleasure and I don't know how much it could rise to that I wouldn't buy it. I would probably cut back on how much I drink so it would last longer. I'm not one to go for fancy coffee especially at Starbucks so that's an expense I don't spend anyway but, my daughter is a Starbucks lover so it will be interesting to see how much they raise their prices. Can only hope that the rising prices (on everything) will level off soon. Meanwhile, do you have a guilty pleasure that you will still buy even if it continues to go up in price?

I did not know it was National Coffee day …..I just had a coffee with Baileys Irish cream in …..lovely. I will always drink coffee no matter what the cost. I have read in another post that it is National tiger day too. I wonder if there is a National Tracey-Jayne day …..

I'd love to have enjoyed this day with a special cuppa, but can't. We've been travelling and food coffee has not been easy to get even though it's expensive! Waiting to get home to my coffee machine.

Happy Coffee Day Coffee Buddy! I see coffee tins ranging in price from $17.99 to $36.99, and not much in between the highs and the lows. I do not feel that they will go low again, I keep a few canisters ahead because I am just not ready to pay over $30 for a canister. I saw that Kicking Horse coffee was on sale and I intend on getting some and using that for a bit. It is nice to have a selection of brews.

@Marilynda1225 Oh thanks. I think of you when the sun is shining and I am having my morning coffee break, and wonder if we were closer and I walked outside on the deck, would I be able to sit with you and enjoy a cup together. Imagine this may be the year we both put coffee on our Christmas list for Santa.

@Juliaacv It would be so nice if we could share our morning coffee together instead of virtually I just might have "only" coffee on my list for Santa this Christmas

I'm starting to stock up on extra canisters too and would hate to have to pay $30 for my morning magic beans. Was thinking of you this morning while I was enjoying my morning brew

I love coffee too toooooo much.....last week while I'm on a vacation to our nearest hilly region, I found lots of coffee plantation.I wonder seeing beans.they do not smell like coffee at all..I wonder How the beans turn into a coffee powder. But It is not our own crop.it is copied of imported seeds from other countries I think

It certainly would be interesting to see how coffee plants are cultivated and turned into coffee

I guess for me, that would be Coke. It’s not healthy, and I cut back, but I still buy it. I noticed in the last three months it’s gone up substantially.

I do not like coffee I think it stinks. I have heard that the coffee beans are in trouble which would be sad for people who love coffee.

You should figure what the cost is per cup. I think you'll find that drinking coffee at home is very inexpensive compared to Starbucks. My needs are fairly simple. I splurge on dinner out once and a while; but that is paid with my "mad money" that I earn from surveys, etc.

I am the same way. There need be no special, designated day for coffee. I have it seven days a week. As for inflation, it will take time. We had a big mess left to us and it's harder to clean up a mess than it is to make one. The current rate of inflation is 2.9%. The key thing to remember here about inflation is that if it goes down it does not mean prices will necessarily go down. That would be the cause of something worse than inflation. Deflation. And if that were to happen, we'd be looking at another possible Great Depression, or at least a very deep recession. The only hope we can have is that payrolls rise faster than the rate of inflation and eventually our spending power catches up or pulls ahead of it.

Coffee has already gone up so much, and yes, it seems to be constantly higher. I do not waste a drop...I reheat the leftover etc. It is something I truly love and enjoy, I have a bit of coffee ahead that I bought a few months ago when I heard it would go way up. I am glad! I think it will get worse before it gets better. Hopefully, I'm wrong.
