My daughter surprised me and started a batch of beans the other day. This was when she was still manic, and she passed out and let them burn. I went from smelling bean aroma to burnt aroma. Ugh! What a waste! And I was so hungry for them.
So, now she has fixed another batch. Yum! Kidney beans cooked with the right spice is so delicious. We used to get the ham hock but with having items delivered I can't be assured of a good one.
Tonight we have beans and cornbread. Mmm.

If you have a crock pot, they make delicious beans. And the nice thing is, they never boil dry in a crock pot.

We do and my daughter could use it. I just jump and want them early. That's hard in crock pot. It's so slow.

I put them to soak the night before. Then in the morning they go in the crock pot, and will be ready at least by mid afternoon, if not a bit earlier. I used to always use the stove for them. It is just way more efficient for me to do beans in the crock pot, and with the lid on they never boil dry.

Yes, I would love to add one but we have our groceries delivered and can't be sure we would get a decent one.

I LOVE beans and cornbread. Beans are one of the things I can't have anymore.
