Delivery Grocery Order

I just spent an hour to solve my grocery order problem, as was told by the grocery store that I had to get the refund from Instacart not Ralphs. The refund was for a 10 pound bag of potatoes at 4.99 and Ralphs told me they don't refund delivery orders. I will certainly no longer order any produce from Ralphs.
The biggest problem you can't tell there is a problem with the potatoes until you open the brown bag. If the store used a lighter colored bag it would have been easy to tell there is a problem. Have you had a grocery store that wouldn't give you a refund? I am getting a refund in about 5 days, but that is an hour of time on hold that I can't get back the time.

Well, in this case it makes sense why Ralph's denied the request. The contract is not between the buyer and Ralph's. It is between the buyer and the delivery service, and the delivery service picked the goods. They are therefore responsible to deal with the customer. Ralph's is not technically a part of the transaction. They are simply the source of the end product that was delivered.

Several people have suggested I try Walmart for groceries, so am going to call them next year when my membership with Ralphs expires. In the past haven't had trouble getting a refund, so not sure why they decided to be difficult. It was a large order.

It makes sense to me that Ralph's won't refund the money since the contract is with the delivery service and they picked the goods. I don't use any delivery services. For one, it raises the cost of everything in my cart, and I prefer to hand pick my food.
