Officials with the Washington State Department and Wildlife shared tips on what residents of Ocean Shores not to leave their packages in the front porch of their homes since bears will see the package and think that is food for them to eat. A black bear saw a package on the front porch of the home in Ocean Springs on Monday September 29. The bear decided to steal the package away from the resident only to find out that the package had a sweater inside the package. Lesson to be learned is that bears will steal packages that are left in the front porch of any resident since they do not have x ray vision like members of the Superman family. Perhaps, the bear will try to fit the sweater onto one of its cubs, as I doubt if it would affect Mama bear.

I’d feel better about things if a bear stole my package rather than a human thief. Human thieves tick me off.

I am in agreement with you that human thieves are meaner than animal thieves.

Sounds like some residents of Ocean Shores need to read up on keeping food safe from bears.

I am in agreement with you that residents need to learn from their mistakes dealing with bears and leaving packages on the front porch.

Bears seem to be very opportunistic thieves.
