The little town of Nungarin in the wheatbelt of Western Australia held a street market today. It’s one of the three towns close to where a concert was held and each town has had additional events and entertainments hoping to cash in on the extra tourists in the region.
Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t kind today and it drizzled a lot. It could have been worse but I’m sure it put some people off going to the markets. Most were under cover or in shops so that was a good thing.
There were two stalls there with people selling metal junk art. One was the man who supplies Wongan Hills tourist office and I’ve shown some of his work before. At the front of his pieces, he had a pelican with a fish in its beak. I’ve put up a photo of a similar one before. This photo shows part of the collection that was for sale. When we drove to the caravan park, I saw one of the tin kangaroos in a garden.

There's a lot of work involved in these pieces.

I think that's pretty neat, My dad used to let me weld old metal scraps from our truck shop and id make abstract metal pieces

@JudyEv No, I would just learn to weld using scrap metals from my repair shop. All creations were eventually junked for scrap metal

@BACONSTRIPSXXX The blacksmith/farrier who shod my horses was very good at his job but said he had no imagination to make original pieces.

I love those things. There’s a “folk art” (or “junk art,” or whatever anyone wants to call it) place at a rest area in Berea, Kentucky, home of Berea College. I think that’s so cool that they have it at a rest area so visitors can see some of the artwork.

The sheep were really cute. I'd like one in my garden.
