Not for food this time.
I ordered a set of uniforms for my daughter, and it’s now on its way here. Their uniform situation is a bit complicated. According to the college, the cloth and design must first be checked and approved before they can produce more sets. I find the process quite detailed; they even require exact measurements, including sleeve length, collar, and total length, all based on each student’s body size and height.
Nowadays, it is difficult to find a sewer or tailor shop here. That makes it much more challenging.

I never heard of colleges requiring uniforms. That sounds more like a high school thing College should be associated with independence and critical thinking

Wow glad that my son didn’t need to do that when he was in college. He went through college during pandemic and all of his teo years were spent online then on his third year they were on hybrid until his graduation. Because of that they were not required to wear school uniforms anymore. That was a unique situation back then.

How fun for you. Isn't there schools that don't have a dress code?

You mean the college approves the cloth and design? That is ridiculous.

Hope the uniforms fit your daughter and it doesn't require much altering. It does sound challenging if you have to do the measuring yourself and not someone professional from the uniform company.

My cousin is sending his daughter to a private school this year. He said he has to get the shirts custom made at a print shop. He said that's hard to find pants for her. I never heard of colleges doing that.

Here in the UK you can buy most school uniforms from selected stores or online …..it can be a bit of a faff.
Colleges tend to have uniforms for certain courses…..it seems a bit silly to me, I can understand it for work, but not colleges.
I did a hotel receptionist course ….many moons ago …..and I had to be measured for the uniform…..well, I don’t know what happened but all the clothes that came were completely wrong and way too big. I ended up wearing my own clothes for almost a month til the new , correctly sized uniform arrived. It was a dreadful time as I stuck out like a sore thumb as everyone else was dressed the same and then there was lil ole me !
