A herd of five yaks escaped from their ranch in Indian Lake Ohio on Monday September 29. The five yaks made their way to Indian Lake Middle School which is located near the ranch where they staying. School officials contacted the Logan County police who were helped by officials of the Hidden Nook Ranch to round up the five yaks who were eating the grass in the school yard while some students were outside for recess. The yaks were then rounded up the Logan County deputies and members of the ranch into a trailer and returned home. The students who were outside during the lunch period did not get close to any of the yaks. Link is upi.com/3241759320607 via @upi

They appear docile and not aggressive, but their looks can definitely be intimidating and frightening at first. I assumed they were free-roaming wild animals rather than domesticated ones like cows.

@Deepizzaguy That is why I was surpised that they are being kept in a farm now. I know then as a wild animals and not kept as farm animals.

Most likely the yaks are wild animals.

The yaks look very tame. I'm glad they were returned home.

I didn't know there were yaks in the US but I guess there aren't a lot of them.
