Stormy Weather

That's what was playing on my clock radio when I dragged myself out of bed this morning. And while it wasn't exactly "stormy" outside, it was raining extremely heavily, and it was darker than you'd expect: I had to put on the light to make sure I didn't overfill my teacup.
The dip in my side walkway has turned into a little lake (again) and a bucket I left outside yesterday (because rain was forecast) is filled to the top. So I'm sure the ones under the downspouts are, too.
And the temperture? At 9am, 21°C/70°F, which is the predicted high for the day, with 50 to 75 mm of rain also predicted. That's 2 to 3 inches, but the puddles are already deeper than that. The street is a river and my basement is flooded. Guess I should have been building an ark during the pleasant weather instead of just lolling around, reading.

Yeah, I suppose a row boat would have been easier, but it's still raining at 10:25am.

Sounds like a miserable rainy day there especially if your basement is flooded. Egads!

It stopped for about 10 minutes, long enough for me to bring in one planter from the front steps before it stared up again. Seems to have stopped again for now.

Sounds that You had a torrential rain .We are crying out for rain and have had muggy weather lately,though it is late autumn.
