As if we didn't know that already.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney met with Trump at the White House today. They spoke in part in front of the press in the Oval Office and answered questions from them. I was at work so I didn't get to see the whole thing live but I did see several clips on Twitter during my lunch.
Trump was asked if it was the White House's position that furloughed federal workers should receive back pay when the government shutdown ends. (FYI--federal law states that it is required to be paid) Well his answer was a real gem:
" It depends on who we’re talking about. We're going to take care of our people. There are some people that really don't deserve to be taken care of, and we'll take care of them in a different way."
Oh okay. So he will make sure the MAGA Republicans/sycophants will be paid but not Democrats and people who don't support him and his insanity. ISN'T HE THE PRESIDENT FOR ALL OF THE COUNTRY? ALL AMERICANS?
Nope. He doesn't care about the country or people who don't support his blatant and illegal power grabs in an attempt to turn the US into an autocracy. What a terrible person and president. Great job America for re-electing this scumbag grifting criminal.

This is definitely a topic that generates strong feelings on all sides. The question of back pay for furloughed workers touches on fundamental questions about governance and fairness that many people are concerned about right now.
