Thanks for the good run this year, Cubs. Now on to the championship series, and I normally don’t root for the Brewers (disdain for Bud Selig, who used to own the Brewers, going back to his days as commissioner), but Bob Uecker died this year, so I’m rooting for Ueck. You’re rooting for another song, I’ll bet (ha). Here’s another artist making a return visit after the appearance last month
Long Tall Glasses (I Can Dance) - Leo Sayer
Yes, last month it was a ballad. This month, it’s Leo Sayer’s first US hit, which you not only can dance to but extols the virtues of dancing.
And if you watch the video, you’ll see another shining example of “white people can’t dance.” I don’t care what the lyrics of the song say, those are some lame moves.
So enjoy another one of Sayer’s big classics.
Long Tall Glasses (I Can Dance)
Written by Leo Sayer and Leo Courtney
Recorded by Leo Sayer
From Just a Boy, 1974
Song used last month: “When I Need You”

I have a feeling that your Brewers will be in the World Series and win it in memory of Bob Uecker just like the Dodgers won the World Series after pitcher Fernando Valenzuela passed away.

I saw a picture of them celebrating last night, they had a photo of Uecker in the clubhouse as part of the celebration.

You’re just jealous that you can’t dance like Fred Astaire.
Happy 250th birthday, shipmate.

i think he acts funny more than looks funny. He didn’t have that in the “When I Need You” video.

Another great big yes, Love Leo and his music. He can still give us plenty of music at 77.

Love the range he has (or had, don’t know if he has it now) in his voice.

That’s what usually sells a song, the chorus. One’s coming up that we can all sing along to.
