Well, don’t the Sundays come around faster every week !
Today for lunch we had roast beef, roast potatoes, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, roast parsnip, gravy and mustard.
For pudding Mom had made a trifle.
Something that we used to eat a lot of when I was a child, but as time has gone by it’s only really been at Christmas time that they were made.
However, a couple of years ago we had a trifle at a party and we decided that we would have a trifle much more often.
For those who do t know what a trifle is ….its a layered pudding.
The layers are jelly ….jello … ( with or without either fruit or sponge )
Blancmage ….like thick custard
Whipped cream
You can top with 100’s and 1000’s or cherries or strawberries
What have you had for your meals today ?

@Traceyjayne I think this is the residual of a medicine they gave me months ago. I stopped it several weeks ago, but the residual affects are slowly fading.

My Mom used to make something she called "pudding" when she made roast beef--Yorkshire pudding--though technically it wasn't pudding at all. I used to enjoy those.

@Traceyjayne Yeah, not a dessert--but like you said, delicious.

Yorkshire puddings are delicious. Not a pudding as in dessert.

I don't think I've ever eaten a trifle... What are 100s and 1000s?
I usually eat a sandwich made with a big croissant cut in half with a fried egg, a sausage patty and a slice of cheese for breakfast. (I buy them from Walmart. A 12 pack of them costs around $15. They come frozen and I microwave one every morning.)
I made a hot ham and cheese sandwich for supper with some chips/crisps.
Photo is not mine.

@Traceyjayne Thank you. They swelled shut after I was here for a little while yesterday. They're still swelled up now. (myLot wouldn't let me on the site when I tried to talk again yesterday.)
Huh... those sound interesting.
I looked at recipes yesterday but Pretty said she wouldn't eat a trifle so I probably won't try making it.

Hey, welcome back ….how are your eyes ?
100’s and 1000’s are tiny bits of kind of dried icing ….its the best way I can describe it.
You should try trifle ….it’s delicious.

@traceyjayne When we got home from Church I bunged potatoes into bake and we had them with a mincey type saucy thing. It was actually quite tasty albeit somewhat uncouth in presentation.

Trifle and fruit salad were dishes that we once only had at Christmas.

Your meal sounds delicious. I had some chicken Alfredo for dinner last night with a fruit cup for dessert.
