Cara Mia

A song with a wonderful melody and strong voices is "Cara Mia" by Jay and the Americans. I remember listening to the song along with my friends, and we always loved to shout the words of the song—Cara mia, why... And so since the words mean "my darling," we would always laugh and ask, "Cara mia, why?" never using the word darling. "Cara Mia" came out in 1964 and became a number one hit in the UK. It was a gold record for English singer David Whitfield. Then in 1965, American rock group Jay and the Americans recorded the song, and it became popular.

I never heard this song, at first I thought it was an Italian song, but we would have used "Mia cara" and not Cara mia.

@JESSY3236 I suggest there is so much great music out there to give yourself a music education on YouTube and discover what you have missed. I came into the world at the end of the 1950s and once I discovered rock and roll I gave myself a musical education even without Internet and now it is easy tof ind all my favorites on YouTube in both English and Latvian,

Those are some HIGH notes in that song. Sounds like he wanted to be Roy Orbison. Great song.

What a funny picture! I don't think I've heard of this song, but maybe I'd recognize it if I heard it.
