So, this morning I picked all the remaining green tomatoes from my plant at home and brought them with me round to Moms, then we picked all the remaining green tomatoes off the three plants we had in Moms garden.
I found a recipe from the Good Food site and I shall be preparing the tomatoes and onions later today ….they have to be left overnight with salt on them. I will finish making the green tomato chutney tomorrow.
Hopefully there is enough green tomatoes to make enough chutney to last over the Winter months.
Do you grow and eat your own produce ?

@Traceyjayne It’s funny, the packet said blueberries, but it was mislabeled, and they got blackberries. Which is fine with my dad as he loves blackberry cobbler.

That's a great idea. My Mum would bottle enough fruit from her orchard to last us through the year. She also make apricot and plum jam which lasted till the next season.

I used to grow and eat produce from my own plants but haven't in several years now. I do still have some houseplants that are edible but don't bother harvesting from them anymore.

My daughter got one little cherry tomato plant from a friend and it did give us a few tomatoes but it was late in the season. So. maybe next year we'll try growing some in pots. I wish I had a garden and would love growing my own vegetables.
Hope your tomatoes make enough chutney for the upcoming months.

You can grow tomatoes, especially cherry ones, easily in pots….thats what we have done the last couple of years.
