Had my flu jab today …. No appointment necessary !

I tried to phone through yesturday to get an appointment for my Mom to have her flu and Covid jabs, ( I know some folk don’t agree with them and I think it’s a personal choice ).
After much chat with the girl on the phone I was told to ring back today …..
I don’t like being messed about so we called in to the local pharmacy on the way back from shopping this morning.
Two years ago Mom just walked in and had both jabs there and then.
Last year she went in and was told to ring the number I rang yesturday .
So this year I rang …no joy so again popped in.
Anyway within a minute Mom has been booked in for both jabs tomorrow morning.
When I asked about myself, just for the flu jab. I was told “ have a seat we will do it now “.
Great response.
So , ten minutes later I was all jabbed and on my way home.

It certainly was. It surprised me . I hadn’t had it done there before. I usually go to the Dr’s as I’m in town anyway when I’m at work. I was very impressed.

I believe in vaccinations, but I don’t get the flu vaccine. I used to get it every year, and every year I’d get the flu. About 20 years ago I quit getting the flu vaccine, and I quit getting the flu. Is that a coincidence? Probably, but I’m not going to try to fix what isn’t broken.

I agree with you . Don’t mess with these things.
For me, I don’t get cold/flu often but when I do …..boy do I know about it. I was offered the jab years ago when I went with Mom and they found out that I worked with special needs children. Any colds I do get are much less than before so I keep having it.

I'm glad you didn't have any problem getting your shots...
Pretty and I went in about a month ago expecting she'd get both Covid and flu shots and I'd get my Covid shot right then but we were told that Covid shots could only be given with a prescription now. The gave Pretty her flu vaccination right then.
I called our doctor and asked for prescriptions for the Covid shots. Walmart pharmacy called a little while later and said they could get us in the next day for those.

Great you have had yours too. You have to be careful with health issues. I didn’t realise you had to have a prescription for Covid jab. We don’t here ….yet.

@traceyjayne Getting it at the pharmacy as you’re passing is the way to do it. Much more straightforward and quick that going to the GP.

Usually I go to the Dr as I’m usually in town every day when I’m at work. At the moment I’m staying with Mom and the pharmacy is round the corner from her . Made sense this time to try and get in there.
