The Family Phone Call Went Splendidly

We had "the call" last night where hubby and I called his brother and the brother's wife top talk about their mother's newly diagnosed Alzheimer's Dementia and come up with a game plan for handling things.
It went much better than expected.
The brother-in-law thanked us for doing as much as we've been doing and apologized for not doing as much in the past.
They both seemed to have a full grasp of the gravity of the situation and shared some good ideas on ways they're going to help socialize the mother-in-law.
It was cathartic for the brother-in-law in some ways as we talked about end of life plans and such as well to be prepared.
All in all it seems the four of us are on the same page and will work and coordinate well together as we get through this.

I’m glad things went well. It could be that he didn’t want to “face the facts” (or face them alone).

Glad to hear that you all seem to be on the same page and hopefully they will help and take some of the burden off you and your husband.

That is good. You are not in it alone, and people are making peace.

That's really good news as I know it's been hard work in the past at times, dealing with the BIL.
