Her Car Is About to Look Like Bigfoot

I swear, and this is nothing against women—although I am sure I am setting myself up for a massive shellacking here—but holy man, can they fixate on things to the point I think male pattern baldness and shorter life expectancy is well explained.
Take tires and tire pressure.
I honestly think sensors were installed in tires just to make men miserable, or to pump up the air industry. But when it gets colder out, sensors go haywire. It really is a thing. I don't know why this happens. I just know that it does.
And thus, as fall enters into the picture, suddenly my wife is getting her sensors going off telling her that her tire pressures are low.
I went out there and checked all four tires. All seemed well. She is not convinced. "Then why would the sensors be telling me the tires are low?"
"Because sensors are getting fouled up by the temperatures. The tire gauge says they're fine."
She is still not convinced, so I will now pump air into her tires well past what they should be to satisfy her and trick the sensors.
If her car looks like Bigfoot rolling down the street, fine and dandy. But at least she won't get any tire pressure warnings.

Love the look of that car with the huge tires,

But how would you get into it without a step ladder?

Yeah. It's the strangest thing, and one part of that technology you'd think they'd be able to figure out. It drives me nuts because when I put the gauge on them, the pressures are fine. But I can't convince my wife of that. lol
I took the pressure to 40 pounds each and the sensors shut off. For now.

If you over fill the tire, couldn't that damage it?

Over inflating tires isn't good either. I would have taken your word for it.

I didn't know that about sensors. I doubt it gets cold enough here to make a difference.

Cars try to be too clever these days, and often fail in the attempt.
I prefer just to use my eyes to see if my tyres are underinflated, but if we get our car serviced regularly, by a good mechanic, the pressures are tested, and we seldom have to worry about our testing them at all.
