I know this sounds like a bad nightmare or something one would not like to have ever. Actually this is about a strange plant that is referred to as bleeding tooth fungus. Its name is Hydnellum peckii, and it’s a kind of fungus that produces blood-like or juice-like fluid. It can be found all over North America and in Europe. Odd as it might seem, this plant is also edible, but the fluid gives it a bitter taste. The plant also has an unpleasant odor, and the fluid can also vary and be pink or orange. Other names for this plant are “strawberries and cream” and “devil’s tooth.”

@RasmaSandra - No it's not. I remember a mushroom that smelled like rotten meat a few hours after you picked it up. As kids we did not know, we brought home a basket of those mushrooms. After a while the whole kitchen smelled so bad.

Very odd indeed. It's edible? Doesn't look that appetizing.

I bet you that stuff has some miracle cures in it. Sounds like something that evolved through time and just has a secret to life.
