Hurricane Update

It was raining.
The Gov figured that it would hit so everywhere was closed. I went out, the wind a bit hard for the umbrella so I got a bit damp. Traffic was really empty. Streets empty. If you didn't know about Melisa you'd shrug off the rain.
I did a quick walk back, the drains here were working.
The news said it was going to turn north as it was passing south, but it waited until it got mid island, Parish of St. Elizabeth to take a glance.
The rain got a bit heavier, a bit lighter, and at this moment it's the kind of rain you put something over your head as you run across the road.
Everyone is scared... everyone is over worked in fear.
The current claim is that it will hit early Tuesday morning, and go north, and be on the other side by Weds.

It's understandable they'd be scared. Rain in and of itself isn't anything new, but this is a cat 5 hurricane. It's a big deal. I've been getting reagular updates through Fox, and it's not even remotely close to U.S. soil.

never before had we had such twisted information. For example, everything was closed today because the hurricane was to hit last night. Now, it's moved to Tuesday morning. We are told it is moving west, then told north, then told west....
to put it straight, we don't know.. for the first time we are not getting the right information. I think this is because we rely on the US services and as you know, DOGE fired thousands of them.

@jaylar I wouldn't blame the U.S. for this. If you have a map, you can track it yourself. Hurricanes can and do shift, systems move in all of the time. you can't always predict what's going on. It's not one country's fault. If you know how to do it, it's easy.

@kaylachan there is no way, without drones for me to track the storm. I don't know exactly where it is nor do the weather folk. It was supposed to make landfall three hours ago in St. Elizabeth

@RasmaSandra where I am is considered safe... it's kind of wierd... The East has a concrete structure facing my door... just a few feet away. The South has a neighbour's house almost touching the wall which is about two fee away. The West of where I am is another apartment as is the north so I am pretty enclosed. Save the roof is leaking

I seen where they were talking about it turning into a cat-5 by the time it's over
so just be careful & shelter in the safest place you can find.

Prayers for you that you will be safe from the effects of the hurricane staying away from your nation.
