I Use Dead Batteries

For whatever reason, we tend to use a lot of AA batteries. The remotes take them, and they are used for other things, even in a couple of our clocks. There are a couple in our thermostat. When they are "dead," I keep them instead of just throw them away, since I find there's always just enough juice left in them to power my wireless mouse. I like to think I am making full use of something and also saving money. Waste not, want not, right? Do you use dead batteries for anything?

No. I only need them for the remote, clocks and thermostat.

@porwest I hated my wireless mouse. It was always eating up batteries.

@LindaOHio They do burn them up pretty fast, I will admit. But I hate dealing with cord.

What I remember is that I didn't throw it away, I just filled it with salt water so that it could produce electrons, the problem is that the carbon is poisonous and shouldn't be touched by hand.

We only use rechargeable batteries now, I bought some from Amazon and some from IKEA. Those from IKEA are definitely better batteries.

That's a good idea. They do lose some memory over time, but they do last considerably longer than regular batteries. I only use rechargeables currently for my vape. 18650s.
