Hard Day - October 29th

Hello everyone, how are you all doing? Hopefully well. Today is the two year mark since we lost both of my grandparents. They were not in an accident that took both of their lives...but they were both right next to each other and passed away 30 minutes apart. I think my grandma died from a broken heart, she didn't want to go on without my grandpa. It is still hard to process how it all happened. We still haven't fully moved on. Halloween will always be a rough time of year. So is Valentine's but that is for another reason. Hope you all are having a better time, and will have a good holiday (if you celebrate). Just hope to go into the upcoming holidays with some good news. Crossing my fingers. Sharing a photo of them that I took years ago after they went on a fishing trip. They both loved those trips.

I am doing the best I can to my work at home sharing news stories and completing surveys before Halloween arrives.

That picture is so precious. I remember you keeping us updated when all that happened, and as extremely sad as it was, I was glad they didn’t have to live without the other. They sounded like the most dedicated couple. How does Eli feel about Halloween?

I know, doesn't really show their face....but shows them doing something they loved. I am glad too that they could go off together, like my grandma always wanted...well towards the end anyways. They did have their fights but they stuck by each other for over 60 years. I think Eli is indifferent lol....think he is at that age where he may be getting too old for trick or treating. He won't even be able to go to the school Halloween dance because he has an F in one of his classes. His girlfriend won't like that.

@MommyOfEli2013 Aw, they can’t go if they have an F? That is a bummer.

@AmbiePam If they have any F's or suspensions they are not allowed to go...I feel bad because he has mostly A's except in 1 class.

So sad about your grandparents. I can see where Halloween would be a rough time for you. I hope the holidays after that will be nice and joyful for you.

Well the other holidays can be kind of rough too because Thanksgiving and Christmas were always about family and getting together. So it's not the same anymore...well Thanksgiving we usually do a smaller get together still.

That's a good picture. I always thought I wouldn't want to go on without my hubby; but I learned to adjust. I'm still very unhappy; but for the most part I'm not ready to join him. Too bad about your grandparents.

@MommyOfEli2013 Yes, it sucks to be a widow.

I have better photos, but still need to do the editing on them. I couldn't imagine going on without one's significant other, especially once together for so long...so I can imagine how hard it is to adjust and live on...

Well been trying for this good news for about a year and a half! And once I get the good news I still gotta wait 9 months lol! Glad you like the photo...I need to edit the rest. It's okay, just still don't fully understand how it happened the way it did

Your grandparents look happy in that picture. They must have loved each other a lot.
