November Coffee Talk

Happy Monday Everyone and happy (new month) November! the sun is barely poking out from behind the clouds and the forecast is for rain. Certainly looks and feels like it. We had a decent amount of trick or treaters on Halloween and I was glad I had enough candy Saturday evening my older daughter and son in law were on their way to dinner when they hit a deer and totaled the whole front of their car. Thankfully they weren't hurt but the car is a mess and was towed to the body shop. Yesterday they said they had aches and pains from the accident but nothing serious. I certainly said many prayers of thanks because it really could have been worse. I always hate when we have to change the clocks and I never seem to get that extra hour of sleep we're supposed to enjoy by turning the clocks back. The poor dog was on her own time and couldn't understand why dinner wasn't at her usual time. Her tummy didn't know we turned the clocks back and she was ready to eat!!! Nothing exciting going on here today. Just the usual house stuff and then this afternoon I can work on my crocheting for the orders that I got. That extra money will come in handy especially with the holidays right around the corner. How was your weekend? and what are you doing for fun today?

I am SO glad they weren’t hurt when they hit the deer! People don’t understand how common that is. If only my body cooperated and gave me that extra hour of sleep. I’m with you on it just not happening. My weekend was just fine. I’m not really doing anything fun today (just errands), but maybe something pleasant will pop up.

I am so sorry for your daughter and her husband, I hope they are fine and it's only bruises. My husband and I decided not to care of DST and non DST we wake up at the same time no matter what the "official" time is.

@Marilynda1225 - We are lucky to have guardian angels, I believe in angels. When we worked we were obliged to follow the official time, but now we really do not care anymore.

Yes my daughter and her husband are VERY lucky they only have some aches and pains. After seeing pictures of the car their guardian angels were really watching over them. You are smart not to pay attention to DST. I keep looking at the clock, seeing what the time is and saying to myself "but it's really an hour later". Really messes with your mind after awhile

Weekend was OK, went to the city which is always fun for me. I was also talking to son about his new job. He is working at the Amazon warehouse. Sort of cant believe he left coding to do hard physical labor. However, the salary and benefits are decent. He says "its a job." I told him I had heard it was easy to move up the ranks there, but not sure that is something that interests him.

My grandson worked as an Amazon delivery person for awhile and he was happy. Guess you son will figure out what he wants to do but at least Amazon is paying well enough with benefits. These days benefits are a big plus.

I hope your son and DIL really are okay... Cars can be replaced, people can't. I'm used to taking my morning meds at 5 am and, even though I was asleep, I still woke up and took them... at 4 am. We have two clocks that I reset manually Sunday morning. The rest change by themselves. I made some phone calls this morning and received one return call but still didn't manage to get a dental appointment set up. This is very annoying. We were at 45F this morning and are at 55F at 9:45 am. Our older neighbor is out mowing our yard right now. I didn't think it needed it again but I'll still pay him for it. (I was asleep until he started mowing. Hopefully, I'll go back to sleep in a little while.)
