In 1891 William Wrigley Jr. founded the Wrigley Company, which would later be well known for the iconic Juicy Fruit, Spearmint, and Doublemint gums. But at that time, it wasn't gum he was selling but soap. He included chewing gum as a promotional giveaway to help attract customers. Wrigley completed shifted into gum however, when he found the gum more popular that the soap. The company went on to be one of the most recognizable in American history.

Wow that's certainly interesting and I'm glad he switched from soap to gum. I always was fond of Juicy Fruit back in the days when I actually chewed gum.

Same here. I like Red too. I wonder if they still make it.

And he has a baseball park (Wrigley Field) named in his honor! Never cared for Juicy Fruit, honestly, but Doublemint was my mom’s favorite.

I used to chew Juicy Fruit gum when I was pre-teen and into my twenties. I haven't chewed any gum in years and years now.

I liked them all. And Red. I haven't chewed them in many years either.
