The Time Change Broke My Clock

United States
November 4, 2025 10:52am CST
Happy Tuesday Everyone! sunshine and it's 60 F here this morning. Looks like a nice week ahead before the temperatures drop next week. I have a clock in my living room that doesn't change automatically so on Sunday my daughter took it down to change the time. As she was moving the hands to the correct time, the second hand fell off. She put it back on but it just wouldn't work so we had to get a new clock. The new clock came yesterday (thank you Amazon) and it's now hanging on the wall with the correct time. For a day and a half I kept looking at the wall where the clock would be and didn't realize how many times I checked the time throughout the day. Life is back to normal and if I had to be honest I never really like the clock we had before. Funny how things work out.

I don't know why we bother to have clocks through the house anymore. I always have my phone on me and check it for the time during the day. (I wear a watch and still check my phone when the watch is easier to look at. )

My dad has a liking towards wooden wall hanging clocks. I cannot stop him from buying wooden clocks! We already have 4!

@Dreamerby I LIKE clocks and have at least one in every room of the house. You still live with your dad and he might not want to stop buying wooden wall clocks.

I have a few clocks throughout the house (living room, bedrooms) but like you said, I have my phone and I wear a fitbit. My living room clock is more for decoration (or at least that's what I tell myself even though I look at it a hundred times a day )

I forgot all about the time change for once. I guess my mind is taken up with other stuff. I took my clock off the wall to change it when I realized and now cant get it back up.

You don't know how happy I was the clock broke. I never liked that clock any way but my daughter had picked it out so I didn't want to hurt her feelings.

I'm not thrilled with our "hands" clock in the kitchen . . . I'm waiting for something to happen so I can replace it .

I was very happy when my clock broke. I never really liked it but my daughter had picked it out and I didn't want to hurt her feelings by saying I wasn't really fond of it. How have you been?

@Marilynda1225 I like the color scheme on ours, but it has proved to be difficult to read for some reason. Most everyone rather look at the digital clock on the stove . Glad your new clock is working out! We have been good - thank you. Hope you and your family have been doing well. I have tons of catching to do here to see what everyone has been up to. Where's that coffee .

I'm glad you have a new clock. The clock in the bedroom is still flashing...long story.

I’m glad you were able to get a new one so quickly. It is 77 here today. I thought fall was supposed to be here! Later in the week it goes to 79.

Wow your temperature is very warm for November. We're supposed to be in the 60s all week and one day or two it will hit 70 but then come Monday we dip down into the 40s. Guess next week we'll be shivering Can't beat Amazon for quick shipping

Clocks are weird. We need them but they do tend to be frustrating at times. I use my cell a lot but still need the little one I have across the room. I'm too much in the habit of glancing at it throughout the day. It's those habits that make life interesting I guess.

The new one is more my style and fits into our decor so much better. The other one was too modern for me

Can't beat Amazon for fast shipping and it's more convenient shopping online than actually going to a physical store.
