Expensive Moose Cheese

I saw this online and got curious about what moose cheese was. Then I found out that moose can be milked. Due to the complex process, it is one of the most expensive cheeses in the world, coming in at $500 a pound. In Bjurholm, Sweden, at The Elk House (Europeans call their moose “elk”), four varieties of this cheese are available, and all due to the milk that three moose sisters give.
They're called Gullan, Haelga, and Juno, and they are ready to offer their milk from May through to the end of September. That gives the owners 5 liters of milk from each moose per day. The cheeses that are made are a soft, white mold cheese, a creamy blue cheese, a dried blue cheese, and feta. The top seller is the feta which gets preserved in a neutral vegetable oil. Due to the expense, this cheese is only available in select restaurants all over the country.
If you had the chance, would you try some moose cheese?

@RasmaSandra yep and goat or anything but it just makes me squeamish. I hate milk to begin with in cooking I use cows milk but for coffee or anything else like cereal I prefer soy milk.

@RasmaSandra I love honey goat cheese and blueberry goat cheese. I miss the days I could afford it. They sold it at the supermarket near my late grandmother’s house.

I would be curious and would try some. I don't care for the mold or blue but the rest sound interesting. $500 a pound is a bit steep.

@RasmaSandra ......to me a moose doesn't make me think of good and tasty cheese. I like mild cheeses.

@DaddyEvil I am a big fan of goat cheese but even that is too expensive for me so I have to pass on the moose cheese but interesing to know there is this kind. Can you imagine milking a moose?

@RasmaSandra I would assume that milking a moose is much the same as milking a cow or goat. I've milked both of the later by hand when I was still on the farm growing up. Mom bought a milking machine for me to use milking the cows because I had arthritis even back then and my hands would "stick" in that position and she'd have to help me get my hands to relax.
Edit to add: There is a goat farm between Aurora, Mo and Branson, Mo that sells goat cheese. We used to stop there on our way home from Branson and buy cheese to bring home.

@DaddyEvil so in a way you are a milking expert, I wish there was some place for goat cheese near here. Walmart where I order my groceries has like 4 oz of goat cheese at a high price, Not worth it,

@Fleura I cannot imagine what other animals could be milked to make cheese. Then I checked and guess what? You can also milk sheep, buffalo, and camels.

@RasmaSandra I've definitely had sheep's cheese and even sheep ice cream. And I'm sure mare's milk is made into cheese in places like Mongolia and Kazakhstan. Of course mozzarella is made from buffalo milk (that's water buffalo not the American bison; not sure I'd want to try milking one of those)

For free I might try the feta cheese. I don't care for the strong blue cheese, etc.
