I have been told I have the patience of a saint. But this morning my patience was tested. I had two items at Safeway, a bottle of wine and a dozen eggs.
The lady in front of me (in line) was having some kind of "incident." It involved a Target card (what does Target have to do with Safeway?) and maybe four items. Was she trying to get some kind of discount? Perhaps 20 cents? Or maybe even 50? I have no idea.
After about three minutes, I started to grow restless.
I left my items on the "belt" and went and grabbed a sharp cheddar cheese ball. I love those things.
When I got back, the "incident" was still happening. I actually got so enraged, I glanced over my shoulder, as if to say "Can't you open up another line?
Shortly thereafter, a man came up behind me with lots of items.
We stood there for a few more minutes.
Finally, the Target lady left, and I was able to buy my three items.
Is patience a virtue you possess?

I want to say, yes. But, I often feel like I'd be lying. Overall I'm generally patient, but like anyone... limits exist and if I'm pushed past mine all hell breaks lose.

Patience certainly is a virtue. I wonder if this lady was having a mental incident. How embarrassing if she was.
