Good night, friends. Today it was a delightful plan B for me.
I was going to read a book and had enough food so that I did not have to get up to cook.
But I turned on the TV to check, only out of curiosity, what was new at Netflix to watch it some other day. But there was a documentary about the return of Elvis to the stage after 7 years of making movies that were so bad that not even I, a great fan, would spend money in going to watch.
I have only called "my love" to 2 people in my life. One of them was Elvis. So I decided to start watching it before I picked up my book. I would only watch 10 minutes to see if it was worth it to eatch it later. And I watched it until the very end. And it made my day. I placed it in my list at Netflix to watch it again later. It was life returning to my youth.
The day is now over. But for those of you who knew about Elvis, I recommend this film. It is calledReturn of THE KING: the fall and rise of Elvis Presley.
This man died at 42 years of age. I believe that he was killed by the people who wanted to get rich by having him do what they wanted. There was a Colonel Parker I would have placed in jail.
Those are the sort of people of whom I don´t say RIP now that they are dead.
Man proposes and God disposes.
Seep tight, friends

It is happening to me with books too. And I don´t like to turn pages and destroy the book in any way to make a sign in the page. I know I have markers somewhere but they are not of any use if you fall asleep with the book on your lap.
Today I fell asleep with the laptop over my tummy. Thanks be given that I brought down the big bed again. There´s not a chance that in will fall to the floor.

@LadyDuck I sleep much better now that I have a bigger bed. It seems that I move less and relax more now that I am not worried about my laptop.

@marguicha - I use bookmarks, but it was also on my stomach when I woke up.
I had to be very tired as I did not move and the book was still there when I opened my eyes.

Colonel Parker should have done time, at least. The people around Elvis should have treated him better. I can understand he was a force of nature and people didn't go against him. I can see that but doesn't make it easier to bare. It is times like this I appreciate technology so much because it gives us the opportunity to continue to enjoy these once in a lifetime humans. Elvis was something. A few others left us too soon too.

@celticeagle I think that although Elvis was by far the best singer of his time, he was very naive. Colonel Parker "ATE" him.

Managers often destroy people to get the most money out of their talent.

This documentary was about the one time that he could do music with his friends after 7 years of bad films. It is very good.

I am considering writing up an article about Elvis and his movies so I can post the best songs in the movies on the site I write for Vocal Media, I will see how that project goes but yes, I agree except for one or two his movies were not very good, I will see if I can find that documentary online, I have to agree that Elvis was not taken care of very well by the people who should have been looking out for him and another victim I believe was Michael Jackson,

I agree that Michael Jackson was also a victim. If you have Netflix, DO watch this documentary.
it includes a wonderful performance.

Part of it was the story as told by a couple of people including one that had been his friend. But there is a wonderful part about the real concert he gave that night.
