What would happen if everyone in the world wore the same clothes?

I never had to wear school uniforms or work uniforms, but I think they're a great idea. You'd never have to worry about what you're going to wear. No wasting time deciding on an outfit. Plus everybody would look the same. Less jealousy. What do you think would happen if everyone in the world wore the same clothes?

I would have a lot more trouble telling one person from another unless they were close to me. I always pay attention to what people I'm around are wearing so I can see them at a distance and recognize them that way. Edit to add: People are going to find a reason to look down on others, no matter what clothes are worn. Some people will have their clothes made out of silk and velvet while everyone else is wearing cotton or wool. People will NOT allow others to dress the same as them, even in a school uniform.

I agree that peoplle will discover a way of hurting other people no matter why. I was bullied at school because I talked better than my fellow mates. I had to teach myself to talk pronouncing worse.

It would not change anything. Except to take another freedom away

It's an interesting topic. Food for thought indeed. From one hand the idea of everyone wearing same clothes is pretty boring, but on the other hand, people would become less judgemental towards each other.

I say fooey to that. You don't teach a world to coexist by eliminating personal expression, and what a boring world it would be anyway. How do we foster acceptance if we eliminate personality? Granted, I am still against accepting men wearing skirts, but that's an entirely different discussion.

Well, the uniforms might look better on some than others due to design, fit and/or color. I’ve never worn a uniform, but I don’t think I’d like it. Of course, I’d just adjust if I had to.

WE had uniforms at school when I was a child. But people always find a way of bullying other people. I was bullied because I had been taught to speak well at home. Another girl was bullied because her parents were divorced. When I was a child there were no immigrants of other races at my school. But one of my friends had problems because she was Jewish. She had to explain to me what that was. I was taught to respect everybody.

We had to wear a school uniform when I was young, it was exactly to make all students look the same. No expensive outfits to brag around.

In the 19 century the men pretty much did all dress the same,
