Today is thee day we go on our scenic train ride finally. Sadly, I think only a couple of hours will it be light enough to see, and the leaves are past peak, especially in the mountains where we will be. Hopefully, it will still be nice though. It will be nice to look out the windows. Have you been on a scenic train trip? Where was it?

The last one I went on was in West Virginia at Cass Scenic Railroad. Have fun.

@Tampa_girl7 We were just in a motel somewhere in the region. Ex used to like that area. We went to Dolly Sods wilderness, and skiied at Snowshoe a couple of times. That was fun. I would love to go back there. They get so much snow, it is more like a Western resort. You can just step off the chairlifts.

@snowy22315 It is a gorgeous ride. They have several routes. I’d like to take them all. We stayed overnight in an old house there. It was a nice experience.

They are still kind of nice, but we are past our peak. Alot are turning brown. Looking out the window right now, it is breezy and some are falling.Nico likes to look at the leaves falling and blowing.

@snowy22315 - The leaves are still yellow and red here, tomorrow it should be breezy, many leaves will fall on the ground. Leaves are keeping Nico busy now.

Hard to say, they have had even less rain out there, then we have. So the color probably will not be exceptional. I suspect most will be brown at this point, maybe even some bare ones.

I would love to do one of those scenic train trips. Hope you see plenty of beautiful scenery and that it isn't too late or dark.

I have been on a lot of train trips, Amtrak, etc. over the years. The best one was winding through Colorado along the river, some years ago. The ride was very slow due to mountains and curves, and it was Fall so the trees were changing, too. I have been on several in Indiana and Illinois, but not for some time. The Fall train trips are usually so pretty, I am sorry your leaves are past their peak for your trip. I hope you enjoy it, anyway!

Thanks, I imagine it will be entertaining. We will also go to a big Amish store there and that will be fun too. Son and I took a train trip to see my aunt and uncle in Oregon in one time. We also stopped in LA. On the California coast we saw dolphins playing off the coast following the train. They were so pretty and silvery.
