Would you ever buy a 200 dollar turkey?

Of course it was too dark to see them, and they were on the other side of the train, but they pointed out Kelly Bronze chickens in the pasture obviously free range. These are turkeys that have half the cooking time of other turkeys and are supposed to have a divine flavor. These turkeys originiated in England, and are hand plucked for an autherntic feel. In fact, some apparently may have a quill or two attached when opened. They say it might be best for a small initimate Thanksgiving, giving a Baroque style feel. Well anyway, it isn't in my future. I know one time we bought a fresh turkey as I was hearing they were superior..it cost twice as much as a standard frozen bird, and I thought t was scrawny with too much dark meat.

I don’t eat meat at all but I think that is way too costly. I guess if you have the money to waste maybe you’d want to try it but I’d personally pass on spending that much money on one item of food.

I can’t think of any kind of meat that would prompt me to spend that much money, let alone turkey.

It would be neat if you could get one for free.

And I thought the regular fresh turkeys were already expensive as it was . $200 is a bit too steep for me for a turkey . . . for that much money I don't want to be the one having to cook any of the meal .

I've bought $200 turkeys, but they were disguised as appliances. The food? HECK NO.

No matter how good it is, it's too much expensive, I would buy another kind of meat for that price, not turkey.

@snowy22315 May be, I will never find among my friends and family 10 people who would want to eat turkey meat.

@LadyDuck Oh,,there are some that don't like turkey here, but they are in the minority. Some Thanksgivings here include both turkey and ham.

No $200 turkey for me. I will be getting a Meals on Wheels turkey dinner on Thanksgiving.

No way in hell. lol. And it's probably more hype than goodness and flavor. Kind of like the difference between brown eggs and white eggs. What IS the difference? The breed of the chicken that lays them. But they taste exactly the same and have exactly the same nutritional value. But of course, suckers fall for anything and will pay handsomely for anything they can be suckered into. lol

They did some kind of flavor comparison between these turkeys and regular ones..although with the dark meat those that tried preferred the Kelly Bronze, they said with the white meat it just tasked like regular turkey. I see it more like a novelty, with the fast cooking time..and hand plucked..I guess if you can't find anything better to spend your money on...lol... I'll put it on the list, if I win the lottery..lol.

@snowy22315 So many "premium" things in this world are a matter of perception alone. It's like a placebo effect. If you think its better, it will be better. But really...it's not.
