This is a song by Woody Guthrie that I've always liked. I believe it was written in 1948, after a plane full of Mexican farm workers crashed near Los Gatos (The Cats) California. Cyrus Clarke and his buddies in the Cache Valley Drifters used to perform this song in the 1980s, when I lived in Santa Barbara CA, but I don't think they put it on any of their albums. Recently, I checked in with Cyrus, and he told me that he had recorded the song on a more recent album with the Cyrus Clarke Band. Please give it a listen and let me know if you like it. I can sing this song, but not like Cyrus does. He made it his own. .

It's a good song, shame they had very little views and likes. I do not like all country music, but I like some country music and some singers.

@TheHorse - It's hard to promote videos on YouTube.

I noticed that too. Maybe Cyrus did not do much to promote the video.

With the exception of Patsy Cline, the Everly Brothers and Shania Twain, I am not a country fan. Oh and Glen Campbell, especially Wichita Lineman.

Country music is not one of my top 3, but I do love some of it. This song is pleasant. I don’t recall hearing it before.

It's "timely," close to 80 years later.

My grandmother loved country music so that's what I grew up listening to.

My mom was from Montana but did not like Country music. Overall, I guess I prefer folk and bluegrass. But some Country music is good to me. I hope you enjoyed the song..It's really a folk classic.

It's a good song. A little slow for me but still good. Woody and his son did some good ones. I enjoy listening to "Alcie's Restaurant" that Arlo does occasionally.
