Hot-air balloons on a jigsaw

The photo shows the latest 1,000-piece jigsaw that I’ve been working on. We’ve had visitors staying which I’ll write about shortly but they’re gone off touring and I got started on this. I’m not going to finish it as we’ll need the table once our guests arrive home later today. I’ll show them the puzzle then dismantle it. It’s a good excuse not to do all the blue sky. It wasn't as difficult to do as I thought it would be. The caption on the box says ‘Snowmass Village Balloon Festival, Colorado. Does that mean anything to any of you?

We used to have 1 hot air balloon in Singapore. But it was gone after that. it had been awhile since I work on a thousand piece jigsaw puzzle of any form.

There is another one that I'll try once our visitors have gone.

@id_peace No, we have enough things on the walls really without adding jigsaws.

They do a balloon festival about 30 miles from us every year. I’ve only been to it once.

I do 100 piece puzzles on my laptop but more pieces than that and it's really hard to see them - for me anyway.

Wow! That is a beautiful puzzle, even if it isn't finished yet. Maybe you could slide it off onto some fabric and place it on your bed so you don't have to take it apart yet. Using your guests as an excuse not to do the sky is fiendish... and kinda cheating, in my opinion. Nope, the caption doesn't mean anything to me.

@JudyEv Excuses, excuses... What about sliding it under a bed until your guests leave?

@DaddyEvil That's a good idea. I hadn't thought of that.

I have it on a large piece of board. Usually I can move it to the spare bed but that is occupied and there really isn't anywhere else. I agree it's kind of cheating but life's too short for some things and humungous blue skies in a jigsaw is one of them! lol

Take the puzzle apart in sections you can put it back together again easier.

That's a good idea but I'll probably just pack it up. There are only two different shapes and it would be a nightmare to finish the sky.

@JudyEv Forests and woodlands are pretty, but you get tired of them after a while.

@LadyDuck And all the greens and browns can be hard to do in a jigsaw.

@JudyEv I know, how funny! I was invited to a friend's wedding in CO and then stayed and did a few other things; I went to a rodeo there too.

@Fleura We have two German friends staying at the moment and are trying to find 'horsey' events for them to go to. A rodeo is one of the options.
