Crews with the Prince William County Fire & Rescue firefighters responded to an emergency call from the owner of a horse fell into a swimming pool in Nokesville Virginia last week after the horse walked into a canvas covered pool at night.
The owner of the horse found his pet in the shallow part of the pool when the firefighters with the assistance of the Little Fork Fire and Rescue teamed up to rescue the horse by building a ramp in the water and outfit the horse with a harness to pull the horse to dry land safely.
Veterinarians used a sedative to keep the horse calm during the rescue. After the rescue mission was finished, the horse was taken to a stable where the veterinarians determined that the horse was not injured in the incident in the swimming pool.

It looks as if they gave it some food to keep it occupied in eating while in the pool too. It sounds like a protracted effort to remove the horse from the pool, needing to build a ramp to do so. It was good they had success in removing the horse from the pool, and precautions will need to be put in place to ensure it does not happen again.
