A tractor pretending to be a fire engine

I really liked this shiny old tractor on the Horsepower Highway as it’s been adapted to look like a fire engine. It has a wooden ladder along the side and a hose reel. But the piece de resistance is the lovely shiny bell. It’s a McCormick International and I think that is a Bushfire Brigade logo partly visible behind the headlamp. When we were part-owners of a farm machinery business, we were agents for International tractors.

It's great that it's still looking so good.

That's cool how they "remodel" the old tractor for decorative purposes. Of course, those old tractors probably will fire up if you give them enough pushes of the choke. Those things were remarkably well made.

They were indeed and there are many in museums that will actually run when they have an 'open day' or whatever.

I wonder if it was actually used as such... better than nothing, but they'd have to fix that flat tire before going anywhere.

I doubt it was used decked out like it is. Maybe they ploughed fire-breaks with it.

@JudyEv It'd look good in a parade.

It is interesting how they transformed the old tractor to look like a fire engine.

@JudyEv It's fantastic. I love old tractors. I told my son I want to find one for sale and park it in the garden and grow roses around it. He gave me a look. lol I told him I'm serious. He said OK, if it's what I want.

@noni1959 I can imagine it looking great. I've seen several old utes (utility/pickup trucks) with their bonnets raised and the engine well planted with flowers.

It's good that they're being displayed in this way.

I like it. Seems we had a farmer with a creative sense of humor or a secret desire to be a firefighter at one time.

There were a few creative tractors around. Some were just put in place but a lot of care had been taken with some.

@JudyEv I know I have seen some pretty interesting tractors through the years. Not sure I've seen a firetruck one, though.
