Have you heard of Dubai chocolate?

It has been a fad for awhile now. It is made with pistachio, and some say it is delicous and others not so much. I happened to be in Walmart today and saw it in their candy section. This was like a Lindt Dubai chocolate bar. There was a woman there stocking and I asked her if she knew how much it was, she scanned it and said it 14.97??? Say what? I told her thanks, but I probably wouldn't pay 4.97 for it. She said yeah, its pricey or words to that effect. This was just a regular size Lindt candy bar. What a rip off, I will keep looking for it..as it's a fad, it will be lower in price sooner or later.

Don’t talk to me about this stuff….. The Grandkids talked The Mister into buying some of this a while back ……blooming £10, and they didn’t even like it ….mushed it up and left some ….. The Mister bought some biscuits with it in …..expensive , but nice ……as a biscuit but nothing special I honestly don’t know what all the fuss is about …..I guess it just took over from those dreadful Prime drinks everyone went mad for !

I doubt it is anything special. I know one thing, I am not paying almost 15 bucks for it.

I've seen various Dubai chocolate bars in stores - yes, they are crazy expensive! I am not going to pay double digit for that. Not sure what makes them so pricey - the pistachio ? I do recall Trader Joes having their version for like 3.99 - but I'm not sure they still have them.

@snowy22315 If we buy one together, we can split the cost and share - it will be even cheaper !

I don't even know what Dubai chocolate is, I looked online and supposedly it is the pistachio that makes it so expensive,

A friend tried it and said it wasn't very good. And for $14.97, who would want to try it?

Nobody that has posted on this thread has said it was good. What a shame. If I can find it I might try the 3.99 Trader Joe's version..but if I don't like it, I will be mad.

@snowy22315 Yes, I noticed that. But it seems to be so pricey, it's not a temptation for me.

I will keep an eye out for it in the distressed merch store. Also Ollies, if you have them will eventually get some. Ollies is a discounted store that buy lots of merchandise that does not move and sells it for much less.

I got some to review, and I’ll just say you aren’t missing anything. I’m glad I didn’t spend money on it as I would have been so disappointed. I ended up giving the rest to my sister’s kids.

That's what they say, I mean it isn't even good, and they expect you to pay a boatload for it..Ridiculous.

In May it was on my oldest daughter’s Amazon wish list for her birthday. I didn’t want to buy it on Amazon so I found a chocolate shop near me that sells them. It was a large bar but very pricey. $20. I’d have never bought one for myself but for a gift I was willing. I was just at our local gulf gas station and found a little bit smaller Dubai chocolate bar there for $8.99. My daughter loved it.

Is this "Kunafa" (or something worded similarly)? If yes, then this had become the talk of the town some months back on the social media and some were going overboard on it! So well, such things are more hype and less substance although some people do genuinely like them.

I can't comment because not all chocolate is good to eat, sometimes you want to get everything out of your stomach.

Not that much, they think just because they give it a fancy name and throw some pistachios in it, they can chage 10 dollars more than it is worth.

I've never heard of it. I pay $6 for my 70% dark chocolate that I buy for my blood sugar. I think that's too much.
