Trying To Shut My Brain Off For a Few Minutes and Chat For Awhile

Happy Monday Everyone from my cold and windy little corner of the myLot world. Definitely feels like winter even though the sun is shining.
This past week was unusually busy as I didn't have as much time to spend here as I would have liked.
Every day something popped up that kept me off the computer. Good things thankfully.
I'm here today with high hopes of chatting while I enjoy my breakfast and coffee.
Yesterday we put up the Christmas tree which is earlier than we've ever done. Usually it's the weekend after Thanksgiving so really it's only about a week earlier.
My daughter bought a whole bunch of new ornaments and they really do look nice. At first I was like we don't need any more ornaments but then I figured we could really get rid of some of the older ones that have no sentimental attachment.
It was really nice sitting here last night with the ambience of the Christmas tree lighting up the living room. The rest of the house isn't decorated yet and I guess that will be done here and there.
I've stated my Christmas shopping (a big yay for me). I found some cute gift card holders on Etsy and that will make my gift cards a bit more festive.
I'm feeling like I've gotten an early start but still have the feeling I'll be last minute shopping as we get closer to the holidays.
Here I am talking about Christmas and we haven't even celebrated Thanksgiving yet.
What's new with you?

Nothing new here. I just had lunch and I’m going for a walk before I fill my car up.
If you think about it, Thanksgiving comes as late as it can this year (November 28), so you’re really not that “early” in putting the tree up. A lot of neighbors put their lights up on their houses this past weekend, not because they want to get a jump on things but because the weather was nice.

You're right about Thanksgiving being late this year so I guess my tree is up on time
Hope you are enjoying your day

We set off around 6am this morning, ate breakfast, got my scooter, went to downtown Disney and shopped, ate at Paseo (fish tacos), shopped a little more, and have come back to the hotel at 1pm. We’re resting up now. It’s been a blast! Tomorrow is California Adventure Park and Wednesday is Disneyland.
I wish I could see your decorations! I love the sound of the tree, and the ornaments must be so cool. It’s also sweet you found those special gift card holders. I love Etsy!

@Marilynda1225 I’ve been nervous that I’m going to run into someone, but so far it’s been okay. It can go so fast!

I'm so happy that you're having a blast. You certainly deserve to have fun
Sounds like your day went well so far and tomorrow adventure looks awesome. Glad you got your scooter. Are you enjoying it?
The tree does make the house look festive but it's far from done.
I love Etsy too. They have so many unusual things.

So, you've obviously an artificial tree with more than a month to go before the actual event... When do you take it down?

Yes it's an artificial tree so it can go up and/or stay up way longer than a "real" tree. We always leave it up until Jan for the feast of the Epiphany which will be Jan 6th 2026.

Normally I would have waited until next weekend but I'm happy it's done and it certainly has shoved me right into the Christmas spirit

My daughter actually left their little Christmas tree downstairs up last year. Just never go a round to taking it down. I love Etsy. Buy whatever I can there. Thanksgiving will be here in 10 days.
Nothing new here. Mittens is doing okay. Not bleeding like he was. We are still waiting to hear back from the vet. I guess it takes 1-2 weeks to get the results.
Enjoy decorating.

I love Etsy too and have found quite a few unique things there.
Hope Mittens is okay
I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving especially since i don't have to cook and can eat that feast at my older daughters house.

I think Thanksgiving gets forgotten. If the busses didn't stop and Pizza Hut didn't close, I'd think it was another day on the calandar. I love Christmas, though.

We don't have many to buy for now but there always seems to be a few last minute things we need to get. I haven't really thought much about Christmas yet but the shops are all decorated so it will be hard to ignore Christmas soon.
