Lets Talk Turkey..How much are the prices for a turkey around you?

Food Lion the grocery here has the best one I have seen, not that I have really looked elsewhere. I;m going away for Thanksgiving. It is 39 cents a pound. Now you have to buy 35 dollars worth of groceries to get that price. How easy is that to do today? You could stick 5 things in your cart and have it. I wish I could take advantage of that turkey price..but I don't have anywhere to store it, and even if I shared some of it with people it would still end up being a huge amount of bird.

I don’t know how much it costs in Oklahoma, but probably half the price as what you would pay here in California.

I would agree with that assessment.

I have no idea. But at Acme, a lot of customers were buying frozen turkeys at various weights that cost 0.28 cents a pound, and saved money with their digital deals. As usual, I'll be doing a frozen turkey dinner next week. Not sure if I'm scheduled to work on Thanksgiving or not either. Won't know until this Friday.

Turkey isn't so common here and mostly only available around Christmas time.

That is kind of the way it is with lamb here. Christmas and Easter.

I haven't noticed turkey prices. I will be getting a Meals on Wheels turkey lunch on Thanksgiving.

The cheapest I have found so far is at Schnuck's for 57 cents a pound. You have to buy $25 not including the price of the bird. I won't be buying one. I have a 12-pounder I bought last year on sale I thought I'd cook sometime during the year but didn't, and my sister will be buying the main turkey for her hosting this year. We're going to use hers and mine, and I think I will be turkey'd out for a while after that.

YOu are gonna have two turkeys? How many people are coming? I am guessing Sis and Bro in law will get theirs from Giant Eagle which is a store up there in Western PA, which is about 1.89 per pound. Get this, they make you spend 350 to get a free turkey. What a rip off!

@snowy22315 Yeah. That does sound like a ripoff. In fact, a double one. But yeah, we'll just cook up the 12 pounder with the bigger one to get it used up, and we'll have a ham too. There will be several people there so we should at least be able to disperse it all out well enough. No one will be short of leftovers, though.

Turkey is definitely more expensive here, it's not from my country.
