Ho do you deal with the current 4:00pm darkness in winter

November 19, 2025 2:22am CST
Its that time of the year again where it gets dark as early as 4pm . I can talk about the United Kingdom but I know it happens in some other parts of the world too. How do you cope with this phenomenon?

It happens every year, you just have to get used to it. I just put the light on, and close the curtains so the darkness is outside.

It gets dark where I live at 5pm, but it doesn’t bother me since it’s just a couple of months. I appreciate each season as it comes, and when it gets dark earlier than normal it just feels cozier at home to me.

Yes, it’s difficult. How I cope is by putting the light on.

It does not bother me at all, I stay at home and turn the lights on.

It's like this every year, I am used to it. It's OK. I am one of the weird people who try to celebrate each season as it comes. Now is the time for the earth to rest here, and get ready for the spring flowers, plants, gardens, and warmer temperatures.

@ogbenishyna44 Some people complain no matter what the weather is. If it's cold, if it's horribly hot, if it's raining, and on and on. The weather is something we just can't change, yes, it's normal to complain about extremes, but in the end, nothing we can do about it.
